Poncho Lizárraga talked to journalist Joaquín López-Doriga about the accident that he suffered on his bus with his bandmates of La Banda El Recodo.
He says that this is all a second chance at life.
He revealed how the accident happened, saying:
“It was like seven in the morning, our driver Heriberto avoided a car that was coming at us and got into our lane, when he realized that it was a woman driving that was practically asleep our driver tried to avoid the impact and fortunately he did…The truth is we thank God for giving us a second chance at life. It’s when you realize that God is with you.”
He also talked about his injuries:
“I have hematomas on the right side of my body, I have a neckbrace that I will have to wear 8 to 12 weeks, hopefully God will allow it to be shorter.”

Poncho Lizárraga habló con el periodista Joaquín López-Doriga del accidente serio que sufrió en el bus en el que viajaba con sus compañeros de La Banda El Recodo.
Dice que se trata de un segunda oportunidad de vida.
Reveló como ocurrió el accidente. Dijo:
“Eran como las siete de la mañana, nuestro operador Heriberto se percató que un carro venía de frente y como invade nuestro carril, al darse cuenta que conducía una mujer que venía prácticamente dormida, nuestro chofer trata de esquivar el golpe y afortunadamente lo pudo lograr…La verdad le damos muchas gracias a Dios por darnos esta segunda oportunidad de vida. Es cuando te das cuenta de que Dios está contigo.”
Luego habló de sus heridas:
“Los golpes que tengo han provocado hematomas en toda la parte derecha de mi cuerpo, tengo un collarín que traeré aproximadamente de ocho a 12 semanas, primeramente Dios sea un poco menos de tiempo.”
