A week shy of turning 72 Vicente Fernández has announced he will retire after this tour leaving everyone very surprised and with mixed emotions.
During a press conference he said:
“An artist needs to retire with a lot of dignity, in the right moment, and I think that this year I will say goodbye to all of you, to the public from Central, South America, I will say goodbye to Spain for all the love they gave me for many years.”
He went on to say:
“Pero quiero que sepan que me voy, con dinero y sin dinero, hago siempre lo que quiero y mi palabra es la ley, no tengo trono ni reina, ni nadie que me comprenda, pero sigo siendo el rey.”
Don Chente will continue to work in the studio and said he would be open to television appearances.
As fans we can understand he wants to spend time with his family and enjoy everything he has worked so hard for.
At the same time it will be very difficult to see the great don Vicente Fernández say goodbye to the stage.
A una semana de cumplir 72 años Vicente Fernández ha anunciado que se retirará después de esta gira dejando a todos muy sorprendidos y con sentimientos encontrados.
Durante una conferencia de prensa dijo:
“Un artista necesita retirarse con mucha dignidad, en el mero momento, y yo creo que en este año voy a despedirme de todos ustedes, de todo el público de Centro, Sudamérica, voy a despedirme de España, por el cariño que me brindaron por muchos años.”
Agregó:
“Pero quiero que sepan que me voy, con dinero y sin dinero, hago siempre lo que quiero y mi palabra es la ley, no tengo trono ni reina, ni nadie que me comprenda, pero sigo siendo el rey.”
Don Chente continuará trabajando en el estudio y dijo que estaría abierto a apariciones en televisión.
Como fans podemos entender que quiere pasar tiempo con su familia y disfrutar de todo por lo que ha trabajado tanto.
A la vez será muy dificil ver al gran Vicente Fernández despedirse de los escenarios.

i agree con chente!!!..he has to leave us with dignity..lo tenemos que apoyar, it will be hard for us to get use to the fact that we wont see a page of his upcoming concerts near our city but he needs to rest and spend time with his family!!..i love chente and will always have him in my heart. His music has gave me strength in many ways. I saw him for the 1st time last year. It was an amazing concert. I paid over 200 but it was worth every single penny!!..and if he has a good bye concert si dios quiere i will be there!!..Chente es mi idolo
